Introduction

I am seeking a position where I can better use the skills I have accumulated over time. Currently located in Southern California, I am willing to relocate just about anywhere for the right opportunity.

I am currently working as a Regional Field Agent for an advertising company. In my experience, I have managed a 50,000 square foot warehouse, inspected construction projects for a bank and worked in retail management. I once reorganized a shipping department that was not in compliance laws and proper procedures when I arrived.

I also have much experience in teaching and mentoring as a volunteer leader in the Boy Scouts over 30 years
where I also ran some successful events. In addition, I also founded and ran a non-profit corporation for 20 years and served for several years on my Church Council. Organization, Planning and Supervision are among my best skills.

Expertise

Having been the guy in charge, I learned about leading a staff: Supervising, scheduling, training and mentoring. I have seen when procedures and forms are not correct for the department and made corrections. For 33 years I chaired a competition that attracted over 100 youth from all over Southern California (and sometimes Northern California) as well as Nevada and Arizona. It is regarded as one of the most successful events in the Western Region of the BSA Sea Scout program. I also created and maintained the web site for the event. I also created and maintained the web site for my former Sea Scout Ship. I am currently learning to use WordPress to improve my web development skills.

    • Led Sea Scout Ships Conquest and Sea Wolf programs, including training crew members in skills necessary for program advancement, boat operation and Safety as well as basic citizenship and responsibility
    • Mentored youth members through the process of advancing through the Sea Scout Program
    • Organized and managed competitive and demonstration events for youth, including several Regattas, Scout-O-Rama and Explorer Expo
    • Served for several years as Program Director for the Long Beach Sea Scouts.
    • Chaired or served on numerous planning committees for events, including major, regional events like the Long Beach Invitational Regatta and Southwestern Rendezvous
    • Instructed regional Sea Badge classes, advanced leadership and management for Sea Scout leaders, as well as other training and planning seminars for all levels of volunteers
